Bellport, NY – Elmer Mendoza Fatally Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Montauk Highway near Doane Ave & Michigan Ave
Bellport, NY (October 9, 2023) – A crash reported in the Long Island village of Bellport claimed the life of 36-year-old Elmer Mendoza of Medford, New York.
At around 7:00 p.m. on October 7, emergency crews were dispatched to the site of an automobile accident on Montauk Highway.
Official reports show that Mendoza was attempting to cross the highway in the vicinity of Doane Avenue and Michigan Avenue. For reasons unknown, he was struck by a 2013 Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck, which was traveling eastbound.
The pedestrian was fatally injured in the crash and immediately pronounced deceased by responding officers.
