Long Island, NY – Man Loses Life in Hempstead Turnpike Crash
Long Island, NY (September 19, 2023) – A 79-year-old man lost his life as a result of a pedestrian accident that took place in East Meadow.
The accident occurred at around 7:25 p.m. on September 17.
According to reports from the Nassau County Police Department, a 78-year-old man was driving a 2017 Lincoln SUV in the 2500 block of Hempstead Turnpike during the evening hours.
For unknown reasons, the vehicle struck a 79-year-old man who was crossing the roadway. The pedestrian was severely hurt due to the accident. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
At this time, the New York Police Department is investigating.
