Queens, NY (September 7, 2023) – The New York Police Department confirmed that 67-year-old Sam Amorese of Floral Park lost his life as a result of a pedestrian accident that occurred in the Glen Oaks section of Queens.

At around 4:00 p.m. on September 6, authorities were called to the site of a crash that occurred on 260th Street.

Reports show that Amorese was unloading his vehicle in the area of 260th Street and 73rd Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle. The man became pinned between two vehicles, suffering fatal injuries.

The man’s 65-year-old wife and 1-year-old grandson were also injured. His wife was transported to Long Island Jewish Medical Center for emergency care. The young child was transported to Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

A 5-year-old girl, identified as the man’s granddaughter, was also injured and transported to Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

At this time, investigations are underway.
