Train Accidents in New York

Though railroad accidents are not as common as many other collisions in New York, they do lead to some of the most catastrophic and life-altering results. This is especially true when pedestrians are involved in these accidents, who are some of the most at-risk parties in the state. In 2021, it was reported through research that 893 people were killed in train-related accidents in the U.S., with New York accidents making up a large percentage of these collisions. Though pedestrians are supposed to be offered special protections so that drivers are always on the lookout for them, these horrific accidents still happen every year due to the reckless acts of others. If you have been hurt in one of these accidents, you should be aware of the fact that you have options moving forward.

Injured victims involved in train accidents may wonder where they can turn, especially knowing that these claims happen to be highly complex in nature. Many severe injuries stem from train accidents involving pedestrians, such as the following:

  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs)
  • Internal organ damage
  • Broken bones

These injuries tend to land victims in the hospital for days, weeks, or even months. On top of this, they could cause you to miss out on work and your favorite activities. It is important that you seek the immediate help of a Manhattan personal injury lawyer who has your best interests in mind.
