Queens, NY (January 28, 2023) – A pedestrian lost their life in a fatal accident that took place on a major roadway in Queens on the morning of Friday, January 27.

According to local officials, the accident happened around 8:45 a.m. on Grand Central Parkway Service Road around the area of the Jamaica Estates. A man was walking across the street when he was suddenly struck by a 2013 passenger vehicle. Police said that the driver of the vehicle was attempting to make a left turn when the accident happened.

Several Queens responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified as 24-year-old Daniel Zuzworsky, was rushed to Jamaica Hospital with traumatic injuries. He was tragically pronounced deceased while there. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police confirmed that the driver who struck the pedestrian is not yet facing any charges.
