Queens, NY (March 1, 2023) – A tractor-trailer collision with injuries occurred on a highway in Queens in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 1.

According to Nassau County officials, the accident happened before rush hour on Wednesday morning on the Long Island Expressway. The collision happened in the westbound lanes near the Cross Island Parkway and involved two vehicles. Police confirmed that a tractor-trailer was traveling on the highway when it suddenly rear-ended a pickup truck that had a trailer attached to the back. The accident led to extensive damage to both vehicles.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. EMS crews were seen assisting one or more victims who sustained injuries in the accident. It is not yet known how many were hospitalized.

Due to the severity of the crash, all westbound lanes of traffic except for the right lane were blocked. This led to delays until the scene was fully cleared by police.
