Queens, NY – Woman Killed in Fatal Bicycle Crash on Beach Channel Dr
Queens, NY (February 18, 2023) – On Friday night, February 17, a woman was killed in a fatal bicycle accident at an intersection in Queens.
According to Queens Police, the accident happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Beach Channel Drive and Beach 32nd Street. Police confirmed that a police SUV was responding to a call when the officer suddenly slammed into a vehicle at the intersection, then struck a parked vehicle. The officer then hopped a curb, and their cruiser struck a bicyclist who was walking in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The female bicyclist, who has since been identified as a 52-year-old woman, was rushed to a nearby hospital with severe injuries. She was tragically pronounced dead while there.
