Queens, NY – Crossing Guard Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Eliot Ave near 71st St
Queens, NY (September 27, 2023) – A crossing guard was left injured as a result of a crash that took place in the Maspeth section of Queens on Tuesday, September 26.
Reports provided by the New York Fire Department show that a 63-year-old crossing guard was escorting children across Eliot Avenue near the intersection of 71st Street. While protecting the children as they crossed the roadway from the Our Lady of Hope Academy, the woman was struck from behind by a Mercedes just before 3:00 p.m.
The crossing guard was injured as a result of the accident. She was rushed to an area hospital for emergency medical care.
