Queens, NY – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash Involving Train at 169th St
Queens, NY (February 23, 2023) – Around 4:20 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 22, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian involving a train in Queens.
According to Queens officials, the accident happened at a Queens subway station at Hillside Avenue and 169th Street. An F train was traveling in the area when a man suddenly fell onto the tracks due to reasons that are still under investigation. The train operator noticed the pedestrian and attempted to stop but was unable to successfully do so, colliding with the victim.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Queens responders were dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian, who has only been identified formally as an adult male, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody on the train was hurt in the collision.
Police did not say how long services were blocked following the accident.
